Interview with Brandon Boyd!!

Rare occasion that I ever post anything that is not my own art ...sometimes giving one of my friends props for their work or helping promote their e-workshops and such.. but this is a note worthy thing..
Brandon Boyd, whom if you do not know is the lead singer of a great band I've long liked, Incubus..
He is also a fantastic artist...he has a couple of books out and he is a moleskin journal fan!
Bluecanvas magazine did an interview with him and the new issue has the interview some really cool images of his work and I find him pretty darn intelligent and real...check out the interview and a few works of his art!

Great band...great artist.

Find A New Path Today

And explore it...
You never know what you might find.

Heading out thankful it is Friday...off to see my sister and then my father..
will be driving half way across town for that but have cameras with us so who knows what we will find..I'd like to take some urban photos today actually...we love the countryside and I especially most enjoy nature shots and flowers...they are not self conscious.. and believe me I have done photo shoots with physically beautiful models...their not all beautiful on the inside and most are extremely self conscious...flowers don't blink...they don't have out of place hair in their eyes..
They're just..
graceful and lovely :)
So who knows what the day may hold...a book store...a museum..a walk through the city..
I'll be sure to share it...life can't be all work and no play.
That would make Debbie a very dull, crabby little girl!
Whatever the day holds.. whatever path you find or choose to go down..
make it a good one!

What A Beautiful Day!

Hello palz...
Worked for the most part of today...we don't even have a window in our department that opens and it was making me a little nutty simple because today was such a really wonderful weather day here in Michigan! The sky was so incredibly blue... The sun was warm and the wind was soothing. I took my break at work and sat in my car, watching and listening to the grass and leafs on the trees move with the wind and it was so comforting and relaxing. I would have given anything to remain there for an hour or so and just absorb that relaxation and stillness of mind. We don’t have enough of that in our days…stillness of mind. It is rather meditative. I believe these sorts of days are the reasons that Spring and Autumn are my favorite seasons. I love Spring for the feeling of new beginnings it bestows. New life coming into bloom, cool nights, warm mornings and longer hours in a day are a few of my Spring time favorite things. Autumn cools things off. Everything is still alive and makes you aware of its presence with its beauty.  Days like this I want nothing more than to hop in my car and take off to someplace where I’m inspired in nature to take photographs. Drive through open county sides and find tunneled dirt roads to drive through and explore on.
I got off work at 4pm today and came home to change and and say let's walk in the park. That turned out to  be an epic fail..little did I know the bugs were so horribly bad out. I have about ten bug bites just on my face alone. We did however, on a more positive note get our hearts pumping a bit and our bodies moving and that's a good thing! There was no way I could pass up a bit of outdoors today with getting off at such a reasonable time...I had to get out there and enjoy it for just a bit.
Unedited...nothing but blue skies!
The bridge to the nature trails at Dodge Park
Wild flowers to go with wild bugs lol
First real signs of Fall for me...beautiful colors...
Outside my front door

So...despite all the bug bites we got on our walk the day was beautiful and I am rflecting tonight on those things I'm so thankful for in an ordinary day...sometimes those are the best kind of days..
just ordinary..

Doodle in Photoshop

Hi there friends..thank you for stopping by my little creative space in cyber world. It is certainly nice to have you here..I wanted to come by and share some thoughts...about Photoshop and Illustrator. My first endeavors with art were drawing. Like many, I started tracing images in coloring books and then attempted to draw them myself...then in high school I found charcoal and graphite sticks and went crazy with the messes! Throughout my degree in Graphic Design..I found that I enjoyed Photoshop much more than Illustrator..while I regret now not giving it a chance and embracing it moreso I have found that I can do many thing sin Photoshop that most people think impossible..it is amazing how you can improvise and adapt when there is something you are striving to achieve! A poor artist will find anything to paint on and supplies..its a fact!
So...here are a few things I've done in Photoshop in the past few days...some are very simple vector graphics /characters..that I made solely with shapes. Here are a few examples..

This was the first attempt above. I envisioned this little cutie as being one of those snobby, spoiled dogs that woman carry in their purse...yappers who have nothing better to do but bark only...she kinda looks like a bear...she was just a doodle with no real intention of ever sharing her but shes kinda cute I think...

This was my second attempt and my favorite so far f them all...I really love this one and think shes super cute! Made again with just basic shapes and brushes...

The mouse didn't come out as great as I would have liked but he is sort of cute too..

Simple but cute? Can you tell I'm excited for Fall to get here?!

While I was making this one Don said " Ohhh what a pretty bird" hence I named her pritti bird :)
I love this one as well!

Have a few more in the works..a cloud with rainbow, a raccoon and a fox but their not complete. Have no real intentions of something to do with these vector characters but after I did a few I thought these would make really cute iron on transfers for toddler t-shirts..? Who knows my intentions are only to get better at drawing and painting in the computer because the possibilities are endless if one can master that!
I drew this next one with the pencil tool in Photoshop..did a couple of these types of character girls a week or so ago and was not sure how much I liked them but I really have come to adore them...I can see myself getting better at this type of drawing and painting in Photoshop..I plan to continue to advance my skills on this area I really enjoy it. It's relaxing.
Any feedback would be wonderful...helpful criticism is wonderful just be nice..I'm sensitive
Thank you again for coming by and hope to be back soon with lots of new things!
Love + Pe@ce + popcorn & coffee :)

New!

Been a real pain and not done yet but hope you guys enjoy the new stuff I've done around here...was time for a change..change is good right? Well sometimes anyways...
Was a bit upset because I came here and tried to upload a few things and got a message that I had reached my max upload..not sure what that means and had no clue there was even such a thing but guess that makes some kind of perfect sense? There has to be a limit right? Going to try to upload some things to this post and hopefully will be able to. I wanna tell you all about this amazing place we found on accident one day while taking a ride in the woods so to speak...it is called The Lamb's Tail...Here is a link to their site:

The place is truly amazing you guys. I find such great inspiration there with my camera and its just the greatest eye candy in the world. Ever changing this place is...each visit I've made since finding it, I am beside myself at how uniquely decorated it is and wanted to share it with you all.

Bonnie is one of the owners and she is such a kind woman...she allows me to have some creative expression with my camera there when I visit and is always really pleasant and friendly. If you live in Michigan or ever visit...find your way to Armada one day and browse...if you are into antiques this place is ranked one of the best in the state. Bonnie has a group of artist who work for her...finding amazing items and hand crafting beautiful things.

Here are some of the photos I took out there yesterday..well day before at this point it is so late...hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.. Bonnie if you see this thank you so very much for your kindness and the inspiration that is everlasting when I visit your little haven in the country.
I love this photo..the hay on its head cracks me up like it was rolling in it lol

Bonnie sells the most beautiful dried flower arrangements..
These little shoes stole my heart..I LOVE them...

Then after we spent some time in the Armada area we went to visit our pals Joe and Ember...they have beautiful property in Emmit and its always a ton of fun going out there four wheeling through the woods with my camera strapped on my back...hiking through woods finding pretty natural things to snap photos of...was reflecting while editing these next few images that I took on their property...how I find myself seeing weeds as very pretty..most people find weeds to be annoying but in the forest no one cares and their beautiful..I sometimes say I's much rather hand a bundle of weeds than a dozen roses...here's why..
Slight reminder that Christmas is not far off...I LOVE the smell of fresh pine...

Hope you enjoyed your visit! More new things in the works...just getting started!!
